Revealing my latest painting Omen. The sketch for this started in 2017 and I opted to do an entirely different painting. I revisited it and made a few changes. Fun fact: polar bears can’t climb trees. They lost that trait since they evolved in the Arctic where there are no trees. Excited to share my new painting Amalgam. It features a Paralomis histrix, a species of king crab sometimes referred to as the porcupine crab. The soft curved lines of the background playfully contrast with the crab’s spikes, in keeping with the pastel-colored theme. The softly transparent rose also adds to this juxtaposition while connecting flora and fauna. Excited to share my new painting Ouroboros. Black panthers in Asia and Africa are actually melanistic leopards while those in the Americas are melanistic jaguars. Beauty and protection are among much of the symbolism behind panthers while the snake is seen as a symbol of rebirth. In honor of the 75th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s book The Little Prince, they collaborated with Le Petit Prince Officiel for this exhibition.
