Amalgam

Excited to share my new painting Amalgam. It features a Paralomis histrix, a species of king crab sometimes referred to as the porcupine crab. The soft curved lines of the background playfully contrast with the crab’s spikes, in keeping with the pastel-colored theme. The softly transparent rose also adds to this juxtaposition while connecting flora and fauna. Revealing my most recent painting in the In Our Veins series. Equilibrium features a Japanese macaque, also known as the snow monkey, one of my favorite animals since I was a kid and obsessed with pink. The pink hues in the monkey’s face and amaryllis flowers connect the two visually while the honeybees connect all flora and fauna as promoters of biodiversity. Biodiversity

Sharing my new painting Biodiversity. This piece features two tarsiers, which are small leaping primates found only in the islands of Southeast Asia. Biodiversity is a fun homage to the diversity of nature, inspired by bold colors and mixed prints seen in fashion. It features a mix of plants not normally found together in nature, and most of their colors have been exaggerated or altered to add to the whimsy of the painting. Excited to share my new painting Ouroboros. Black panthers in Asia and Africa are actually melanistic leopards while those in the Americas are melanistic jaguars. Beauty and protection are among much of the symbolism behind panthers while the snake is seen as a symbol of rebirth.
