My paintings Equal and Bridge recently found new homes. Both were recently on view at LeMieux Galleries in New Orleans. In both paintings, their heads are replaced with the natural world, relaying the significant connection of all of nature. It is a part of us. Equal is an acrylic on canvas, 14″ wide by 11″ high and Bridge is 6″ wide by 6″ high, acrylic on canvas. New year, new painting. Though technically I finished this painting shortly beforehand. This piece was done with a friend in mind that loves wolves and rescues insects, too, and is now in her collection. The title is Interdepend and it is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ wide by 4″ high. I’m happy to reveal my new painting Regrowth, created specifically for Modern Eden Gallery’s Night Garden exhibition. The exhibit explores nature and earth magic, flora and fauna, death and wilderness. The human eyes within the leaves refer to our connection to all of nature. Today is the beginning of Modern Eden Gallery’s Flashback Sale, which has officially started as of now!  My painting Transcendental is now available for 25% off, originally 500, now 375.  Transcendental was created for “Familiar: The Spirit Animal in Contemporary Art” and is one of my “butterfly eyes” paintings in which the butterflies are a symbol of life.  Both butterflies and life are beautiful, fragile, and ephemeral.  This piece is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high.

I’m happy to reveal my finished painting Delicate.  It is an acrylic on canvas, 5″ wide by 5″ high.  This piece was created for Gristle Art Gallery’s insect-themed “Killing Jar” exhibition which is going on now through November 24th.  Delicate features a stag beetle whose body is patterned in lace.  Insects are often feared, but the lace body serves as a reminder to their diminutive size and delicate beauty.  You can view the painting on my website here: https://amyguidry.com/delicate.html.

I’ve been painting a few big cats lately (I’ve been a fan since I was a little kid) and am happy to see some find new homes.  Bestow and Interconnect have both gone to the West Coast- Seattle and Los Angeles.  Both paintings are acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high.

I’m happy to reveal my new painting for Cactus Gallery’s The Revival exhibition.  It’s titled Renew and is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high.  The theme of the show deals with life, death, rebirth, and regrowth through natural imagery which is very much in line with my work.  Renew is in keeping with my ongoing series, In Our Veins, which explores the connections of all life forms and the cycle of life. Each animal, and each plant, serves a role in the life cycle, together forming the delicate balance of nature. I’ve just finished a new small painting in my In Our Veins series.  The title is Essence and it features a Southern white rhino.  They are one of two subspecies of white rhinoceros and one of the largest and heaviest land animals in the world.  Southern white rhinos are listed as Near Threatened due to habitat loss and poaching.  The butterflies in this piece represent life- both are beautiful, fragile, and ephemeral.  Essence is an acrylic on canvas, 4” wide by 4” high: https://amyguidry.com/essence.html.
