I recently finished three new paintings in my In Our Veins series. You may recall the progress shot I posted of Hierarchy, an acrylic on canvas, 8″ wide by 6″ high. In addition, I’ve added two smaller works, Imprint, 4″ wide by 6″high, acrylic on canvas; and Cycle, 4″ x 4,” also an acrylic on canvas. View larger images of each of these paintings online here: www.amyguidry.com/hierarchy.html; here: www.amyguidry.com/imprint.html; and here: www.amyguidry.com/cycle.html.
Progress shot of a painting I’m currently working on. I finished up the grass and am now working on the mouse. It is an acrylic on canvas, 8″ wide by 6″ high. The finished piece will be posted here soon. View the series online here: www.AmyGuidry.com/wild_west.html.
Another painting from the In Our Veins series has found a new home. Untitled (Desert) is an acrylic on canvas, 4″ x 4,” and will be joining a couple of my other paintings. It is actually a spin-off from one of my larger paintings, Heads II which can be seen here: www.amyguidry.com/Heads_II.html (and FYI Heads II is one of the paintings included in the upcoming show I’m doing at the Hilliard Museum in Lafayette, LA this September). View a larger image of Untitled (Desert) here: www.amyguidry.com/untitled04.html.
I’ve added two new small works to the In Our Veins series. Both are acrylic on canvas, 4″ by 4,” and $100 each. I just had better photos taken of them, hence the late post. The first painting is titled “Interdependent” and the next one is “Untitled (Desert).” I use tiny paintbrushes on all my work, but they are especially useful for these small paintings as they consist mostly of tiny little dabs and lines of paint. The photos here are rather small, so you can view them full-size on my website at www.amyguidry.com/interdependent.html and www.amyguidry.com/untitled04.html.
I have some exciting news to share! My work was selected as a runner-up in the Creative Quarterly magazine’s CQ19 competition. This is the first time I’ve ever entered, so this was a nice surprise. Here’s their bio: “Creative Quarterly publishes the best work being done internationally in graphic design, illustration, photography and fine art. Published four times a year, we’re the only competition accepting entries from all parts of the globe.”
So as a runner-up my work will be featured on their website- www.cqjournal.com in June to coincide with the 19th issue on newsstands at that time. By the way, they picked my painting “Untitled (Heads)” as seen on the left. (Good thing, since that was the only piece I chose to enter!) You can see a larger photo on my website www.AmyGuidry.com.
