In addition to my dodo bird painting, I’ve had another piece in the works for an upcoming exhibition. This is a little sneak preview of my painting for the “Floriography” exhibition to be held at Gristle Art Gallery in New York. The entire painting is 6″ wide by 6″ high and is an acrylic on canvas. As part of the “Good Mourning Tis of Thee” exhibition I was recently a part of, Co-Lab Projects has created a catalog of works by over 60 artists from the show. This full-color, 160-page catalog also includes essays by Morgan Meis and co-curator Alyssa Taylor Wendt. Designed by Jared Ritz. Also of note, $10 per copy will be donated to Direct Relief for Hurricane Harvey. Excited to finally reveal my finished painting, Transcendental. This piece was specifically created for a new exhibit at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco called “Familiar: The Spirit Animal in Contemporary Art.” Transcendental is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ x 6,” and features the “butterfly eyes” in keeping with some of my other paintings as of late. “Familiar” opens tonight, November 3rd with a gallery reception from 6-9pm and will remain up through December 1st, 2017.

This is a little sneak preview (closeup) of my painting recently created for an upcoming exhibit. I’m happy to share that my painting will be featured as part of “Familiar: The Spirit Animal in Contemporary Art” at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, California. The exhibit opens Friday, November 3rd with a gallery reception from 6-9pm. The exhibit will remain up through December 1st, 2017. I’ll be sharing the finished painting in its entirety soon.

Good Mourning Tis of Thee

My painting The Pack will be on view starting tomorrow in Austin, Texas. It was selected to be a part of “Good Mourning Tis of Thee,” a conceptual group exhibition curated by Alyssa Taylor Wendt and Sean Gaulager. Funded by a generous grant from the city of Austin and the Cultural Arts Division, this exhibit will cover such themes as death and transformation, in which death is a catalyst for positive change. The show runs October 13th through November 2nd, 2017 at Co-Lab Projects’ DEMO Gallery in Austin, TX. There will be an opening reception tomorrow, October 13th from 7-11pm.

Room of a Thousand Doors

I’m excited to announce that I’ve been invited to participate in the upcoming “Room of a Thousand Doors” exhibit being held by Wow X Wow. I’ve been working on a new painting for this show, taking it in a slightly different direction (inspired by the theme of many paths to take). The intense, dark leafy background is a new approach for me. This is a progress shot of my painting- I’ll be revealing more over the next couple of weeks. It’s an acrylic on canvas, 6″ x .6″ The exhibit will be held online via Wow X Wow, opening September 1st 7pm BST.

The Coaster Show

Revealing my two paintings for the upcoming Coaster Show 2017 at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, California. The coyote piece is titled Vitae, which is Latin for life. It is an acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo. The skull painting is titled Elucido, which is Latin for enlighten. It is also an acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo. Both will be on display as part of the exhibition opening September 1st (gallery reception that evening from 8-11pm). The exhibit runs September 1st through October 1st, 2017. Face to Face

These are a few photos from opening night for the “Face to Face” exhibition at LeMieux Galleries in New Orleans. Artists represented by the gallery as well as a few new artists have created their own interpretation of portraiture, ranging from the traditional to the abstract. The show is up now through July 29th, so there’s still time to see the exhibit.
