For those of you that are or will be in the Lafayette, Louisiana area this month, I have an exhibition opening at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette. I am part of this group exhibition featuring local and regional artists. The opening reception will be this Saturday, November 8th from 6-9pm. The opening is also held in conjunction with Second Saturday Artwalk the same day so all galleries will be open as well. The exhibit will remain up through the end of November.
One of my New Realm paintings has found a new home. Freedom is currently on exhibit at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana- though not for long! It is an acrylic on canvas, and 48″wide by 24″ high. If you haven’t seen it in person, now is the time to do so. The exhibit is up now through September 6th and features several of my New Realm paintings. View the entire series online here: amyguidry.com/freedom.html.
I recently attended the opening reception for an exhibition I am in titled “The August Five.” The opening was held during Second Saturday Artwalk at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. The exhibition is open now through September 6th.
I had an exhibition opportunity pop up recently to be part of a 5-person show. The exhibition is called “The August Five” and is currently showing at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. Several of my New Realm paintings are featured as well as the works of Ange Riehl, Michelle Fontenot, Jennifer Whitten, and Cayla Zeek. I’ll be posting photos from the opening reception soon, in the meantime, check out the exhibit now through September 6th.
I wanted to share a few photos from opening night a few weeks ago at Gallery 549 in Lafayette, LA. As it turns out, the exhibit has been extended and will be up for this month’s Second Saturday Artwalk on the 12th. These are just a few photos- you can view the entire album here: www.amyguidry.com/events.html. And be sure to check out the show in person at the next Artwalk, January 12th from 6-9pm.
After a short holiday hiatus, I’m happy to be back and gearing up for 2013. I’ve been in overdrive as of late and looking forward to what is coming up for the New Year. Some recent news- two more paintings from my In Our Veins series have found a new home. Cohabit is an acrylic on canvas, 6″w x 12″h, and The Sum of Its Parts is also an acrylic on canvas, 11″w x 14″h. Both were recently in an exhibition at Gallery 549 which I will be posting photos from soon. These paintings as well as the entire In Our Veins series can be viewed here: www.amyguidry.com/sum-of-its-parts.html.

The group exhibition at Gallery 549 featuring some of my latest paintings is coming down this week. I have a few photos to share from the opening reception and there are even more on my (newly redesigned!) website at this direct link- www.amyguidry.com/events.html (Go to the album at the top left). So now I am gearing up for my next show which will be in Austin at Wally Workman Gallery. More details on that closer to time. In the meantime, check out the photos!
If you live in Lafayette, Louisiana, or even in the Acadiana area, you are probably familiar with Gallery 549. Gallery 549 is one of several gallery hot-spots during Artwalk in downtown Lafayette, and one of my personal favorites to visit. So I’m happy to say that I will be showing there next month as part of the annual Spring group exhibition. I’ll be showing works from my “In Our Veins” series, all new and not previously exhibited- so this will be their debut! If you are in the area, this is your chance to see my work in person. I show all over the country, so I really love it when I have the opportunity to show in a local venue so that friends and family can attend. The opening reception will be held during the Second Saturday Artwalk in April (which will be April 9th) from 6-8pm. Hope to see you there!
Oh, and for those of you who are out of area, you can visit my work virtually at www.AmyGuidry.com.
