I’ve recently finished my painting for the upcoming “Wanderlust” exhibit at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco, CA.  The painting is an acrylic on cardstock (it’s an actual postcard!), roughly 6″ wide by 4″ high, titled Interdependence.  The piece is part of my In Our Veins series though I created it with the show in mind.  The exhibit will have an opening reception on December 13th at Modern Eden Gallery, from 6-10 pm.  It will remain up through January 3, 2015.  In the meantime, view my piece online: http://amyguidry.com/interdependence.html.

You may recall I posted a small piece of my latest work on here. Although it’s not finished yet, I do have a good chunk done to show you. This time it’s roughly one and a half feet wide. I’m calling this piece “Survival of the Fittest.” After all the hours and days and months (!) I’ve invested in this piece, I’m starting to think this is a test of my own fitness. I’m no quitter, though, so I will be posting the finished piece soon!

This will be my latest addition to my series, “In Our Veins.” BTW, you can also read more about this series on my website since I’ve recently added an artist statement. And for those of you who are wondering, this is an acrylic on canvas, 36 inches wide by 18 inches high.

So in the meantime, enjoy these detail shots of my progress and be sure to check out the rest of this series on my website www.AmyGuidry.com.

Merry Christmas?

I know that it’s the holiday season and all, but I just had to post my newest painting. It’s jolly, I know. I’m fresh out of snowman paintings… Yes, the timing is probably off, but I’m so excited to finally share this new piece. It’s so new I haven’t even named the series yet. Any ideas??

This painting is titled “The Wild West” and is a 24″ x 30″ acrylic on canvas. It’s not on my website yet, as I am working on a couple more pieces to put on there as a group. Otherwise this one would be all by its lonesome. It took me forever to finish this painting. The others are not as grueling, but this one took over 188 hours. I’m surprised my hand hasn’t fallen off.

Be sure to check back on my website www.AmyGuidry.com to view this and other paintings from my newest series. While you are there, be sure to check out more of my work. You won’t find any snowmen or candy cane paintings on there, but I like to think you’ll still enjoy it. Happy Holidays!
