Revealing another finished painting Inside Out. Inside out is in reference to our love of nature mimicked through consumer goods which, once they are old or we tire of them, are tossed out into the very thing we love: nature. Sharing my latest finished painting Fragile. It should be noted that artistic liberties were taken with this piece as (aside from the obvious abdomen) this spider doesn’t actually exist. I came up with her after looking at several references. The decorative porcelain abdomen serves to highlight the beauty and fragility of these small creatures which have an important role in our ecosystem. Progress photo of a new painting in the works. Sometimes I take artistic license with my subjects if they don’t quite fit what I had in mind. Such as this spider, which aside from the obvious (abdomen), doesn’t actually exist. So I looked at several spiders and created this one. This piece is an acrylic on canvas, 5″ wide by 5″ high. Revealing my latest finished painting Coalescence. This piece features an emperor gum moth and Eurasian lynx (one of four species of lynx cats). They were nearly driven to extinction in Switzerland but were reintroduced so the population is small but stable. They are still critically endangered in other areas, though. The connection of the leaves, moth, and lynx represent the connection of all flora and fauna. Acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high. My painting Transcendental has found a new home. This piece was created as part of Modern Eden Gallery’s Familiar: The Spirit Animal in Contemporary Art exhibition. This piece utilized “butterfly eyes” as several other paintings and has a nearly monochromatic theme. It is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high.
