“Coalescence” by Amy Guidry; Acrylic on canvas; 6″ wide by 6″ high; Sold; (c) Amy Guidry 2019
Revealing my latest finished painting Coalescence. This piece features an emperor gum moth and Eurasian lynx (one of four species of lynx cats). They were nearly driven to extinction in Switzerland but were reintroduced so the population is small but stable. They are still critically endangered in other areas, though. The connection of the leaves, moth, and lynx represent the connection of all flora and fauna. Acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high. You can view the painting on my website here: https://amyguidry.com/coalescence.html .

Another cropped detail view of my current painting in progress. Working on the Megatibicen Resh cicada at the moment. Megatibicen Resh, commonly known as the Resh cicada, is one of several types of cicadas that can be found in Louisiana. This was one that I had discovered after he was already deceased. After laying him to rest in my backyard garden, he can now live on in a painting at least. The total size of this painting is 6″ wide by 6″ high, acrylic on canvas. As previously mentioned, this piece will be revealed soon, so if you would like to know as soon as it is finished, sign up for my monthly newsletter here: https://amyguidry.com/contact.html (just click the newsletter icon).
