It’s finally here! The opening for “Penetrating the American Psyche” is tomorrow night at (SCENE) Metrospace in East Lansing, Michigan. The group exhibition features works by Amy Guidry of Lafayette, Louisiana, Teresa Petersen of Detroit, Michigan, and Peter Richards, Valentin Pulido, Jefferson Kielwagen and Ethan Tate, of East Lansing and Lansing, Michigan. The show opens Friday, September 6th from 6-9pm and will remain up through October 20th.
I recently attended the opening reception for an exhibition I am in titled “The August Five.” The opening was held during Second Saturday Artwalk at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. The exhibition is open now through September 6th.

I had an exhibition opportunity pop up recently to be part of a 5-person show. The exhibition is called “The August Five” and is currently showing at Gallery 549 in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana. Several of my New Realm paintings are featured as well as the works of Ange Riehl, Michelle Fontenot, Jennifer Whitten, and Cayla Zeek. I’ll be posting photos from the opening reception soon, in the meantime, check out the exhibit now through September 6th.
I am happy to announce that I was recently selected as one of the artists for the upcoming “North/South” exhibit at Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, South Carolina. The exhibit will feature two paintings by each artist depicting the North and South. The opening reception will be held November 1st from 5-8pm and the show will remain up through the month. The jurors were in attendance as well- Jordana Pomeroy, Executive Director, LSU Museum of Art; Susan H. Edwards, Executive Director, Frist Center for the Visual Arts; and Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker, Executive Director, Frye Art Museum. The exhibit is up now through August 24th.

I just found out today that my work was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Art Melt to be held at the Capitol State Museum (formerly Louisiana State Museum) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The jurors for this year’s event are Jordana Pomeroy, Executive Director, LSU Museum of Art; Susan H. Edwards, Executive Director, Frist Center for the Visual Arts; and Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker, Executive Director, Frye Art Museum. The event opens to the public starting July 20th but there will be a Preview Party the night of July 19th from 7-11pm. The exhibit will run through August 24th.
The 1000 Words exhibition opened at the Acadiana Center for the Arts last Saturday night. The opening was held in conjunction with the Second Saturday Artwalk in Lafayette, Louisiana. If you missed the opening, not to worry because there will actually be other ‘openings’ during the June and July Artwalk. The exhibit is open now through July 13th.

I’m currently showing on the West Coast and the East Coast, and happy to say that my next exhibit will be local (in Lafayette, Louisiana). The Acadiana Center for the Arts is presenting an exhibition of narrative art titled 1000 Words in which I have been invited to participate. The exhibit will be held in the Main Gallery starting May 11th through July 13th. The opening reception will be held on May 11th from 6-9pm, in conjunction with the Second Saturday Artwalk.

I received some great news the other day. My painting The Pack recently received a Juror’s Award in the Peaceable Kingdom: Animals, Real or Imagined exhibit at the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, California. My work was selected by guest jurors Stephanie Cannizzo, Assistant Curator of the Berkeley Art Museum and Cathy Kimball, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. If you are or will be in the San Francisco area, you can view the exhibit now through May 19.
