Time again for the Lafayette 2nd Saturday Artwalk!  This one will be held October 13th, from 6-9pm in downtown Lafayette.  Several galleries have new exhibits up.  If you haven’t had the chance to check out the Configured & Reconfigured show at the AcA, now is the time to do so since this will be its last day up!  (Also of note, you may recognize Lisa Osborn’s work at the AcA… she is also in the Louisiana Voices exhibit with me at the Hilliard Museum.)  The exhibition lineup is as follows:

This weekend’s 2nd Saturday Artwalk for the month of September (Saturday, Sept. 11th) honors Elemore Morgan, Jr. The State of Louisiana has declared September 18th, Elemore Morgan, Jr. Day and will be commemorating this special designation with grants awarded by the Elemore Morgan, Jr. Visual Arts Endowment and a special reception during the Fall Fest event on September 11th’s Artwalk.  Galleries are hosting special exhibits as well.  The event starts early this month- from 4-8pm.

Okay, so this won’t be the next upcoming 2nd Saturday Artwalk, but it will be a 2nd Saturday in the future… October, that is. So here in Lafayette, Louisiana, we have a 2nd Saturday Artwalk each month in the downtown area. All of the galleries are open late, usually until 8 or 9 pm depending on the crowd. So I will be having a solo exhibition at Galerie Lafayette, which is located in Jefferson St. Market this coming October. This will actually be the second solo show I’ve had at Galerie Lafayette. I will have all new work for this exhibit! The opening reception will be held during the Artwalk, which will be October 10th from 6-8pm. More details about the show will follow closer to time.
