One of the coasters I created for La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s Coaster Show recently sold. The title is Whole and it is an acrylic on cardstock, 4″ tondo. There are three remaining coasters that I painted left, currently on display in the exhibition through September 28th. New painting currently in progress. The first photo is the original sketch on canvas. The second photo is the first layer of paint and current detail work to the eyes. Her entire face is about the size of a quarter. It’s an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 12″ high. As mentioned earlier, I was invited to create a set of coasters for La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s 2nd Annual Coaster Show. My coasters are finished and currently at the gallery, awaiting the opening on September 5th. They are 4″ tondo coasters, acrylic on cardstock, and $100 each- top row from the left- Intertwined and Whole; bottom row from left- Union and Connected. I received some good news: my work has been selected for the “Real and Surreal” exhibit to be held at Sandra Lee Gallery in San Francisco, California. The juror of this exhibit is DeWitt Cheng, Art writer, critic, and curator of Stanford Art Spaces. The exhibit will run September 4th through the 26th, with an opening September 4th from 5:30-7:30pm.
