Very excited to reveal my new painting, Bestow<\/em>, created for WOW x WOW’s upcoming online exhibition, “Super Reverie.”\u00a0 Bestow<\/em> is an acrylic on canvas, 6″ wide by 6″ high.\u00a0 I’ve been fascinated by ocelots since a very young age.\u00a0 (And apparently Surrealist painter Salvador Dali is a fan.)\u00a0 As mentioned before, I knew all the big cats so well I could identify them solely by their patterning (without seeing their faces).\u00a0 I paired the ocelot and bees in this piece because of their similar colors and patterns.\u00a0 Because of bees, plants are pollinated and ultimately provide food systems for all animals.\u00a0 The bees surround the ocelot and adorn his head as if they are bestowing him with life.\u00a0 The human eye refers to our connection with all of nature.\u00a0 You can view the painting online here:\u00a0https:\/\/amyguidry.com\/bestow.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n
